Review: Hard Rock Café
A great night out ...
Having lived in London for over 10 years now, I'd always wondered about the Hard Rock Cafe, but never found time to visit, so when this offer came out I jumped at the opportunity.
I bought a couple of tickets online and took my wife out for dinner. We arrived at about 7.30pm and the restaurant was full, but were greeted politely and asked to wait a few minutes at the bar. After being shown to our table, we were greeted by a very professional waitress who told us that we could essentially have anything on the menu - we ordered steaks and a bottle of wine (not included). The atmosphere was vibrant with good music and the decor an interesting collection of rock and pop memorabilia. The food arrived quickly most enjoyable, we also ordered ice creams for dessert, but weren't quite able to finish.
After dinner we were directed next door to the Hard Rock Cafe shop, where they have a great collection of T-shirts and other souvenirs, but also a "private vault" downstairs where they keep a collection of rare and valuable items, such as John Lennon's glasses and Jimi Hendrix's guitar. We were taken down for a short tour of the vault and posed for a photo, holding guitars owned by Pete Townsend and Jon Bon Jovi.
The entire experience was positive - the price was reasonable and we will definately go again.
