There is no better place to enjoy this traditional English occasion than sitting back in our Palace Lounge overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace.

The pastry kitchen at The Rubens is led by our talented Head Pastry Chef, Danielle, producing the freshest pastries and cakes for our guests to enjoy. With a reputation as one of the best in London, we pay respect to the traditional of Afternoon Tea whilst incorporating fresh twists along the way. We also cater for a range of dietary requirements.

Afternoon Tea at The Rubens at the Palace

Enjoy a Traditional Afternoon Tea featuring a selection of mouthwatering finger sandwiches and delicious sweet treats including a selection of freshly baked scones served with homemade strawberry preserve and clotted cream.

The Rubens Afternoon Tea (Sample Menu)

  • Sandwiches:
  • Coronation chicken bridge roll
  • Fillet of Castle of Mey beef, horseradish cream
  • Arbroath Smokie, chive mayonnaise
  • Cucumber and cream cheese
  • Egg and cress
  • Freshly Baked Scones (orange-scented and plain):
  • Served with homemade strawberry preserve and Devonshire clotted cream
  • Homemade Pastries:
  • Plum posset, blood orange caviar
  • Orange mascarpone
  • Coronation tart, pistachio, raspberry
  • Cherry éclair
  • Diamond chocolate biscuit cake, chocolate mousse
  • Red velvet cupcake

Little Prince and Princess Tea

Little Prince and Princess Tea (Children 5-11) includes freshly made bite-size sandwiches, freshly baked scones, selected pastries and a choice of milkshake, hot chocolate, tea or soft drink.




Tickets are booked through Evan Evans Tours.

Daily at 3.00pm

Make your way to The Rubens at the Palace Hotel for the 3.00pm Afternoon Tea session. Please be there 15 minutes before.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
